Her passion for helping others, particularly through Marama’s holistic approach to healing, is deeply personal, especially following her father-in-law’s dementia diagnosis. Testimonials
“If asked what I would do differently since my husband Kevin, age 65, was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and early-onset Alzheimer’s in November 2020, my answer would be simple: I wish I had found a place like Marama sooner. Marama is a unique memory care center that prioritizes non-toxic living, homemade keto meals, organized supplements, and comprehensive physical and mental therapies. Managing all of this for Kevin myself while working full-time quickly became overwhelming. Now, Marama handles everything seamlessly under one roof, and the compassionate staff have truly made a difference. Every memory care center should aspire to function like Marama—it is truly one of a kind and an extraordinary place.”

“The Bredesen protocol works. I saw that for myself when I implemented it at home using Dr. Bredensen's book "The End of Alzheimer's Program - The First Protocol to Enhance Cognition and Reverse Decline at Any Age." In addition to the book, I enrolled Bill in Apollo Health and they recommended functional medicine Doctor Linda Goggin. It took a few months but eventually Bill's cognition returned. Unfortunately, he experienced kidney stones and Covid. He almost died from Covid and never really recovered from it. After two years of a physically weakened Bill and a setback in his cognition, Bill was accepted to Marama. After about three months of the program, his cognition greatly improved. One of his nurses, Peyton, thought he would be going home soon. Anyway physical problems set him back again when he first went to the hospital with bleeding ulcers and then broke his hip. Now he has good days and bad days. I'm sure his physical health being restored will greatly impact his cognitive health once again. I hope I made myself clear and that both Bill's daughter and myself can attest to the fact that the program works.”

We recommend residents plan to stay for at least 6 – 12 months. We typically start seeing improvement within 6 months, however depending on what you have been able to incorporate at home in advance of your stay it can take a bit longer. Some new community members will need 4-6 weeks to adjust to the new environment and routine. This is normal and part of the reason we do not encourage a stay shorter than 6 months. Remember, this neurodegenerative process has been going on for decades before it presented itself as memory loss. It will take a bit of time to reverse it. Our goal is to prevent and at least delay your need for long term memory care and allow you to return to independent living.
-
We are committed to seeing all of our graduates thrive at home. Our goal is to support them in being as independent as possible while they are here and as they transition home. We provide graduates and families with recipes, shopping lists, guidance on activities and the implementation of a non-toxic environment through the Reversing Alzheimer’s Course as you make the transition home.
-
At Marama, we prioritize open communication with family members, community partners, staff, and medical providers to ensure that our facility is the right fit for you or your loved one. While we aim for our residents to transition back to independent living within 6 to 12 months, there are instances when our team determines that a long-term stay at Marama is the best option for their ongoing care. term.

A. Dr. Bredesen uses the metaphor of a “leaky roof” to explain his approach to addressing cognitive decline. Just as a leaky roof can have multiple causes, cognitive decline can be driven by various factors like inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, toxins and more. His protocol aims to identify and address each of these contributing factors to effectively “patch up the leaks” and improve brain health. The Bredesen Protocol involves a personalized, multifaceted approach that includes dietary changes, exercise, sleep optimization, stress reduction, brain training, and target supplements, among other strategies. To measure the success of the program, Marama Experience utilizes the Montreal Cognitive Assessment to measure changes in cognition every 12 weeks.
